Philosophy

Pacific Bride Guide firmly believes that a beautiful wedding can happen on any budget. We provide travel information and contacts for wedding vendors and bring them together in one place- you might spend months and months and countless hours searching for these amazing vendors on your own, and even then, you might never find them. We have hand-picked these vendors for their exceptional character and genuine friendliness and are happy to support their businesses as they support us and our happy couples. We love adventurous, funky couples who want to plan not only an amazing wedding day, but an incredible experience for themselves and their friends and families. Providing you with honest, accurate information to help you plan one of the most amazing celebrations of your life makes us incredibly happy.

Company

Pacific Bride Guide is an online resource for planning your off-the-beaten-path wedding in New Zealand and Hawaii. Our website is intended as a guide to planning your entire destination wedding celebration- from the ceremony to the reception, from your accommodations to your vacation activities. Our goal is to be able to meet every vendor personally, to continually improve our selection of vendors and to expand the services and information we provide. We feature a range of pricing and booking fees, but we firmly believe that a beautiful wedding can happen on any budget. We're here to support you and we thank you for supporting us! In the coming years we hope to expand our resources to as many fabulous islands across the Pacific as we can!

Tara Mahealani DePonte, Founder

Tara Mahealani DePonte was born and raised on the Windward side of O'ahu, Hawai'i. A love of the lush mountains and endless ocean around her, Tara has always enjoyed sharing her Hawaiian culture and the little known "spots" of her island home. During a study abroad trip she found a second home in the jaw-dropping landscape, diverse design culture and uniquely pacific lifestyle of New Zealand. Several months before graduating with her Bachelor's degree in Landscape Architecture from the University of Oregon, Tara started thinking that pursuing a career in the wedding industry might be more her style. Four years later, she feels like she has found her niche in the industry- instead of planning weddings for couples, she finds immense happiness in providing couples with all the tools and information for them to build their own ideal destination wedding in the pacific. "I've always loved organizing, designing, travelling and sharing places and ideas I love with others. I'm so excited to share the two places I love most in the world with you!"
